Everyone likes maze due to its various health benefits. Maze is also called by various names like Maki, Chali, Corn, Cholam, Musiknu, Makkar Cholam, Makka in various part of Asia. People also called it queen of cereals. Maze widely eaten by peoples of India, China, Pakistan. Pop corn is popular product of maze. Maze is also fodder by the farmers to their animals to increase milk productivity. Villagers used its waste for preparing food in kitchen as a fire material. A famous quote known in India "Makki di Roti and Sarson da Saag" because maze piece of 'chapati' gives great taste with 'Saag' vegetable.

Plantation-:
Maze is kharif crop so grown mostly in monsoon season. In market it's varieties of seeds are available. Some types of hybrid seeds are Ganga-1, Ganga-safed-2, Ganga-3, Ganga-4, Ganga-5, Amber etc.It can be grown in between June to September in India. Maze could be grown in variety of soils. Maize yield nicely in soils whose water holding capacity is more. It grows mostly in frost free area. Soils PH value 5.5 to 7 are good for farming.During land preparation organic fertilisers like animals dung is recommended to add for getting good production. Around 10kg maze seed can be sow in one hectare of field. Farmers to take care of plant spacing, it should be maintain plant to plant 10 cm. In early stage of plant it is necessary to give urea fertilizer and cover plant roots with more soil. Its plant grows from height 5 to 8 ft. It's growning temperature is between 20 to 35 degree Celsius.

Things effecting maze farming - :
1.Many unwanted plants grown along with maize during its initial stage. Farmers to remove them in time otherwise they effect the good production.
2. Wild animals like monkey, wild bore, fox etc. mainly ruins the field in fraction of time, so farmers need to safeguard their field.
3.Be visible if plants colour turns to yellowish, it is indication of reduced nutrients uptake due to restricted root growth. To cure plant from this, you can add micra nutrient mixture at 64 per hector mix with 50 kg of soil.

In food processing industries maze used as basic raw material for making various products available in market like starch, oil, food cereas, alcohol, food sweeteners. Corn flour and Gram flour are not same but looking like same. Corn soup is very delicious and good for heath. Corn flakes are good food to eat.
